Working across fine art, editorial and portraiture, Nikolai von Bismarck employs a wide range of experimental and creative photography techniques ranging from screen-printing and large format film cameras, to tin type, Super 8 and Polaroid photography.

Seeking out printers and rare film from across the world, von Bismarck brings his unique images and labour-intensive techniques to his work with global brands including Dior, Celine, Miu Miu, Fendi and Chanel.

Shooting the covers and editorials for Vogue, W, Arena Homme +, Harper’s Bazaar, World of Interiors, Cabana and Self Service has seen him photograph the worlds leading models and most inspiring cultural figures ranging from Bella Hadid and Christy Turlington to Virgil Abloh, Sir Ben Kingsley, Tilda Swinton, and A$AP Rocky.

Since his formative years assisting Annie Leibovitz and studies at Parsons, von Bismarck has travelled the world for his fine art and reportage portfolios and exhibitions, which have taken him from Ethiopia, Cuba and India, to the gorillas of Rwanda and the people displaced by war in Ukraine and the effects of war on that country.

His work has also been exhibited at London’s Royal Academy and has been published in two Rizzoli books: 2019’s The Dior Sessions, and 2022’s The Fendi Set.
